No Fee IRAs

There's no minimum deposit required to open an IRA with CFG, and you can do it online in just 5 minutes.  Once you've opened your account, you can fund it with a check, ACH bank draft, or you can transfer an existing IRA from your bank or other broker. Current IRA Contribution Limits

If you have a Roth IRA or traditional IRA, you can contribute up to $5,000 to it for 2008. That's up from a $4,000 limit for 2007. (If you will be 50 or older at the end of 2008, you can add up to another $1,000 to your IRA as a catch-up contribution). You may contribute to both a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA, but your combined contributions are still limited as if you were only contributing to only one or the other. Contributions for 2007 can be made up until April 15th, 2008.

Which IRA is Right For You?

If you have money from a 401(k) or other qualified retirement plan, you will need to establish a rollover IRA. For money that is being contributed outside of a company plan, you can choose between a traditional IRA or a Roth IRA. A traditional IRA may be tax deductible, depending upon your income level, and the money grows tax deferred until you start taking withdrawals. Contributions to a Roth IRA are not deductible, but the money grows tax free, so no taxes are owed when you take the money out. We also offer no fee SEP IRAs for the self employed, no fee SIMPLE IRAs for small businesses, and no fee educational IRAs for college savings.
